This is the home of SalvaMea Siberian Huskies. Richard, Dawn and and Sam share their home near Keith in North East Scotland with their wonderful dogs, a cat, chickens, snakes, spiders, amphibians, fish ,Mr Magnifico the donkey, the Angorras and Fanny and Nell the wonder goats!
Not long ago we were living in a 3 bedroom semi in south London. Dawn had always dreamt of owning a Siberian husky but in the suburbs they were not the obvious breed to choose. We read and read all we could, visited local owners contacted the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain and eventually decided to take the plunge and we got our first puppy, Ghost. That was in 2002, and since then we have acquired 7 more huskies.....and a whippet (...don't ask!...), raced our dogs all over the country, met some wonderful people, sold our house, changed jobs and moved to Scotland......
Why "SalvaMea"?
Our affix has a multitude of meanings to us. This was the only affix we wanted and we were so glad when we were granted it. We wanted this affix because SalvaMea was a track by Faithless, and was "our tune" back in our clubbing days. SalvaMea translates as "save me", Dawn and I believe we saved each other, we have saved dogs and we hope we are there for our friends and family in times of need.
